Why I am Running
I’m running for re-election as Sussex County Commissioner because I love our county and want it to remain a place where families, seniors, students, farmers, and small businesses can thrive. Growing up on my family farm, and still working it today, has given me a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our community. As an educator at two of the state’s top universities, I see every day the importance of preparing our students and workforce for the future.
During my time on the Board of County Commissioners, I’ve delivered real results: preserving farmland, enhancing senior services, launching the Sussex County Seed Library, expanding education and workforce programs at SCCC, revitalizing agritourism, and strengthening the open space trails program.
When re-elected, I will continue fighting for common-sense solutions that protect our rural heritage and conservative values, grow our local economy, and ensure Sussex County works for residents today and for generations to come. Sussex County deserves leadership that listens, delivers, and builds a stronger, more prosperous community for all.
